Frequently Asked Questions

What graphics programs do you accept?
We recommend saving as a .PDF. You may also send the file in the following types: jpg, jpeg, tif, tiff, eps, and png.
We prefer that you send .PDF with embedded or outlined fonts. .PDF's are easier to handle and will likely speed up your turn-around. Remember to add crop marks and flatten your files before uploading.
Can I have borders in my artwork?
Borders are not recommended due to cutting shifts. If your product is not trimmed exactly on the trimming line, borders may appear uneven. Especially for small products such as business cards, even half a millimeter of cutting shift may cause the borders to look uneven.

Our cutting tolerance is 1/16", meaning that each piece may shift up to 1/16" in any direction during cutting.

What is resolution?
Resolution is also known as dpi (dots per inch) or ppi (pixels per inch). It indicates the number of colored dots or pixels that make up one image. The higher the dots per inch/pixels per inch, the greater the resolution and the clearer the resulting final print will be.
What is a bleed?
The bleed is the extra margin on a print product that is meant to be trimmed off when the product is trimmed to its final size. Bleed basically means that the color and graphics on a product "bleed off the page" to ensure continuity of the color to the edge of your product.
How should I set up my bleed?
Bleed must extend past the cut-line and will be trimmed from the product during the final cutting phase. When the image is required to extend all the way to the edge, bleed is needed to preserve the finished look and the quality of the final product.

Please keep all text at least 0.125" inside the cut-line.

- The bleed for Standard Products is 0.125".
- The bleed for Booklets and Presentation Folders is 0.25".
How important is it to convert my files to CMYK?
It is imperative that you convert your files to CMYK, since this is the only color mode that we accept for printing. Any other color mode will not produce optimal printing results. Most commercial printers accept RGB images, however, using images that are in RGB color mode may ruin the appearance of the final printed material.
What is rich black and how can I get it?
Rich black is an ink mixture of solid black, 100% K, with additional CMY ink values. This results in a darker tone than black ink alone. If you print black alone as 100% K, the resulting black may not be as dark as you might like.
We recommend using

C 60 M 40 Y 40 K 100
This will give you a deep, dark, rich black.
What is Gloss Spot UV and how do I prepare my files for Gloss Spot UV?
Gloss Spot UV is the application of High Gloss UV Coating to certain areas of the design. It helps make these areas of your design pop out for a truly impressive outcome. To prepare your files for Gloss Spot UV, please follow these instructions. Please keep in mind that not all products have Gloss Spot UV available.
Does GAMAPRINT Print have templates I can download to help me with my artwork?
Templates are available upon request.  Please email to info@gamaprint.net to request a template.
What are the file requirements for NCR Forms?

  • At least 0.25" of space on the glued edge (short edge) should be free of ink
  • Full color and solid colored backgrounds are not recommended, as it may effect your ability to read the text and write on the form
  • Light ink coverage is highly recommended
What is Every Door Direct Mail? (EDDM)
EDDM is a U.S. Postal Service Program developed to help businesses get their promotions or advertisements into the hands of a targeted audience, meanwhile reducing the cost of preparing and delivering your mail.

It's the perfect solution for businesses large and small, allowing you to target homes in your area or across the country. No mailing list or postage permit is required, saving you time and money. And for as low as $0.154 per piece, you'll save a bundle over first class rates!

Please note: EDDM must meet "commercial flat" specifications. Our system’s built in EDDM tool makes these specifications easy to adhere to.
How can I make sure my blues do not come out purple?

When using a blue in your design, always make sure to leave at least a 30% difference in your Cyan and Magenta values.
100% C 100% M 0% Y 0% K
Blue is close to purple in the CMYK spectrum. Remember, use a low amount of magenta whenever using high amounts of cyan to avoid purple.
EXAMPLE: C-100 M-70 Y-0 K-0
